Solstice, Pan’gea

cyberjaya, malaysia

Solstice, comprising 2 towers of soho units [39 and 35-storey containing 946 units] on an 8-storey podium with parking and recreation facilities, is part of the phased Pangaea Development, Cyberjaya. Conceived as part of the cohesive integrated Pangaea development, Solstice epitomizes the transformation of a new site into a haven for the expression of contemporary lifestyle and design achievement as well as to create a gateway to the Cyber 9 locality. The facilities design concept at Level 8 and Roof combine architectural and landscape elements to create a retreat experience and ambience incorporating modern design with a tropical twist.

The form of the apartments carries similar language as a whole. It implements three evergreen elements among which are glass, trellis and concrete. The horizontality of concrete sun shading acts not merely as what its function suggests, but also gives a sharper character to the architecture.

The trellis, in contrasts, refines the tall building with its verticality. Its main function is to screen parts of the building, and further incorporated to the car park podium on the lower level. In terms of facade, the lightness look at the podium gives a heightened sense for the four apartment blocks, making the people to notice its very entity.
