Anggun

jalan sultan ismail, malaysia

Anggun Residence sits on a 1.5 acres land and form a phase from the overall masterplan of the entire 4.49 acres site along Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. This serviced residential building consists of a single 38 storey tower with 384 apartment units. Due to its location, Anggun is designed with urbanites, young professionals and business travelers in mind. The units range from a studio unit up to 3+1 bedrooms apartment, with up to 12 units per floor.

With its orientation, the building enjoys an open view of the city. The building asserts its presence by creating a strong front façade to address the public with the main entrances situated to the south, leading into a double-height open air lobby at ground level. On a typical floor, the units are arranged in a linear configuration, minimizing the common corridor. On the rooftop level, it opens up to a deck level where public facilities such as the gym and pool facilities are placed for the occupants.

The podium forms a solid entity for the tower to sit. It is composed of an interplay between precast concrete panels and perforated aluminum panels. It achieves a level of sophistication by layering of the assembled materials in a well composed configuration.

All the apartment units are designed with generous ceiling height and large windows. The living spaces and the bedrooms are positioned to maximize receiving daylight as well as natural ventilation. The corner units enjoy the advantage of having dual views of the city and its surrounding skyline. All the units are also equipped with smart home security system for added safety.

The tower uses both clear horizontal and vertical expressions. The concrete floor plates that protrude from the envelope of the building help to strengthen the rhythm and articulation of the building. They also act as sun shading device, with the deep protrusion giving depth to the overall envelope of floor-to-ceiling glazing.

Anggun is both of its time and timeless – a respectful response of its context and celebrating the concept of urban living.
